The overzealous morality police is at it again, busy pushing its idea of “sanskaar” onto everyone else. Reports suggest a revised version of ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, starring Ranveer Singh, quietly made its way to theatres last weekend. The original fix? A stray cameraman caught in a mirror during a crucial scene. But that wasn’t all. According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the makers had earlier muted a few profanities while letting the rest slide. Not anymore. In the latest cut, Sanjay Dutt’s SP Chaudhry Aslam gets firmly censored during the Lyari sequence — his actions remain, but his words? Gone. Even the supporting cast has been scrubbed clean of the colourful language. Apparently, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had initially recommended 21 cuts in the Aditya Dhar directorial venture. Tough luck if you missed the earlier version. You’re now stuck with a sanitised, slightly neutered edit. So much for creative freedom, eh?
