Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday paid tributes to the mortal remains of legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle at her residence in Mumbai’s Lower Parel area. Several dignitaries and admirers gathered to offer their final respects to one of India’s most iconic voices.
In his tribute, Shinde described her passing as “Swar Samadhi,” emphasising that her legacy transcends mortality and will continue to resonate across generations. Calling her a “pride of Maharashtra” and a symbol of Marathi identity, he said her contribution to Indian music remains unparalleled.
