Workers protest: Security beefed up as unrest continues in Noida

According to Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, more than 300 individuals have been arrested in connection with the unrest. Police have registered multiple FIRs and are continuing efforts to identify those allegedly responsible for inciting violence

Protests by industrial workers carried on into Tuesday at the Hosiery Complex in Phase 2 of Noida, despite the state government announcing a significant interim wage increase. A heavy police presence remained in place to prevent further escalation following violence a day earlier, reported the ANI.
Tensions flared on Monday when demonstrations turned violent after clashes between workers and police. Protesters reportedly hurled stones and set vehicles ablaze.
