Our favourite from the lot were the earcuffs, which have now become Arora&rsquo;s stamp. We also loved how the rings wereworn at the base of the nails. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/aug/Nitya-Arora-1.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 679px;" /> Karishma Shahani sought inspiration from different eras to create a bohemian printed line of clothes in breatheable fabrics. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/aug/Troy-Costa.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 483px;" /> We also liked the brogues with contrasting soles by Troy Costa Ken Ferns continued the bird print trend by creating a beautiful autumn-y print on gowns with corseted tops, peplum dresses with peter pan collars, tailored trousers and jackets. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/aug/Rhinestone.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 404px;" /> Rhinestone encrusted shoes by Rajat Tangri were a hit Prints dominated the third designer in line for the first show with Sneha Arora using vintage military inspiration (photographs of soldiers in attention). <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/aug/Ken-Ferns.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 754px;" /> Ken Ferns had matching eccentric headgear for his birds and branch prints The structure of the garments followed an equally rigid military discipline with shirts and blazers, giving a stylish uniform theme. <h2 class="footer_style"> Androgynous</h2> <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/aug/Lakme.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 283px;" /> Kanika Sachdeva, Pranav Mishra and Shyma Shetty, Shantanu Goenka Designer Shilpa Chavan tried to interpret the sari into headgear and pushed gender boundaries with her clothing for women (stitched saris resembling lungis and unisex shirts). <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/aug/Lakme-1.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 283px;" /> Sailex, Dhruv Kapur, Shilpa Chavan re-invented the sari for men Sougat Paul wowed us with different versions of his main motif -- Zellige, a terracotta tile formation found in Morocco. <h2 class="footer_style"> Ramp turns bus stop</h2> <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/aug/ramp.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 149px;" /> It is not just bus stops where one will find serpentine queues. As one enters the venue for LFW, every morning the sight resembles a school field trip with large groups of fashion school students waiting to get into the venue. Once inside one will see another huge line waiting patiently to get into the main show. This is an area that brought back memories of school picnics to the zoo. Anushka Khanna toyed with geometry with embroidery to create metallic geometric patterns over sheer fabrics. <h2 class="footer_style"> Sheer fabrics</h2> <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/aug/Lakme-2.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 283px;" /> Print on sheer fabric by Shehla Khan, Sheer sari pleats by Nikhil Thampi, Embroidery on sheer cape by Nupur Kanoi The third show had Kommal Sood showcasing garments inspired by the bird of paradise, thick black gowns with asymmetric hems and red cloth lining for contrast. <h2 class="footer_style"> Geometry</h2> <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/aug/Lakme-3.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 283px;" /> Karishma Shahani Khan, Anushka Khanna, Payal Singhal Sequined embroidery on shoulders for minimal sheen and head to toe on gowns for all out glam. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/aug/Ranna.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 283px;" /> Ranna Gill, Sougat Paul Rajat Tangri relied on sequins too and the embroidery turned into rhinestones and beads. Wet wipes and hand sanitiser: This helps remove make up and stay clean in general. Oriflame Silk and Cashmere Hand Cream: I love this cream and really recommend it as I have been using this for seven eight years now. Gum: I will always have gum with me.
