Shekhar Kapur with daughter Kaveri

Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur was named as one of the recipients of Padma Bhushan awards this year. It is the third-highest civilian award in the Republic of India. The filmmaker is known for films like ‘Masoom’, ‘Mr. India’, ‘Bandit Queen’. After being named for the awards, the filmmaker dropped a long note with some existential thoughts. 

The filmmaker took to his Instagram on Republic Day and shared a picture with his daughter, Kaveri. He said that it was the moment he got the news of the honour. He celebrated by hugging his daughter who was nothing but proud. He also penned a long note in the caption, as he mulled over what new set of responsibilities does the Padma Bhushan entail.
