Playing Ajay Devgn’s in-laws

Stars Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, R Madhavan, and Gautami Kapoor attended the trailer launch of De De Pyaar De 2 in Mumbai recently. The film is a sequel to the 2019 hit, De De Pyaar De. In the movie Rakul plays Aisha, who introduces her partner Ashish (played by Ajay) to her family, including her father, played by Madhavan. Asked about playing Ajay’s girlfriend’s father despite being nearly the same age — Ajay is 56 and Madhavan, 55 — Madhavan said, “I have never done a father’s role before and competing with Ajay, I was very nervous. I have seen other actors who are so busy when they come to the set but Ajay sir is always present on the set and dedicated. We have always felt connected.” Directed by Anshul Sharma, the film also features Jaaved Jaaferi, Meezaan Jafri, and Ishita Dutta. It is slated to arrive in cinemas on November 14.
