The AI-altered version of Raanjhanaa has been re-released in theatres. The movie, which stars Dhanush, Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol was released first 12 years ago. The re-released version by Eros International has a new climax. Instead of the original tragic ending, the altered version has Dhanush's character Kundan not dying.

The altered version of Raanjhanaa has currently been released in select theatres of Tamil Nadu alone, where Dhanush has a huge fan base. While there has been resistance against the AI version of the film led by director Aanand L Rai, fans turned up in theatres to watch the re-release. 

Visuals of people enjoying Raanjhanaa re-release have now surfaced on social media. In the videos, fans can be seen erupting in joy as Kundan comes back to life in the climax of Raanjhanaa.
