After losing several members of his family and friends to cancer, Suniel Shetty has started an initiative to raise awareness about cancer in the Mumbai slums. <img alt="Suniel Shetty" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/feb/Suniel-Shetty.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 730px;" /> The actor has started a mobile bus in the Jijamata slums and the vehicle runs several facilities for needy patients. The vehicle will be run with support from a city-based NGO. A source says, &ldquo;The initiative will spread awareness about the ailment in the slum and also has surgery facilities on board. Suniel feels it is part of his social responsibility.&rdquo; The actor and his team aim to educate people from weaker financial groups living in chawls. &ldquo;Their fight mainly is against oral cancer amongst men and cervical and breast cancer amongst women.&rdquo; Says Suniel, &ldquo;Every woman should go for check-ups regularly. A very close friend&rsquo;s wife is a cancer survivor and an inspiration.&rdquo; We hear that the actor plans to expand his initiative in other bastis in the city and even outside.
