Ahead of International Women’s Day, she reflects on parenting, the importance of education beyond academics, her decision to prioritise family over career, and why she believes true empowerment begins within the home.

Sameera Reddy on motherhood and education

The actress has been associated with P&G Shiksha, which strives to ‘Erase The Learning Gap’ with its current campaign. She spoke about her long association with P&G Shiksha, a program she has been connected with for over ten years. She shared that the initiative initially focused on building school infrastructure, which was much needed to improve access to education. Over time, the program has evolved to focus on bridging learning gaps among children. According to Reddy, while having schools and children attending them is important, ensuring they receive the right kind of education and support is equally critical. Addressing challenges that arise in the early stages of learning, she noted, plays an important role in building a child’s confidence and helping them keep pace with their peers.
