The Hereditary director Ari Aster`s father advised him to stop screenwriting and focus on direction after his film Beau Is Afraid underperformed at the box office in 2023, reported Variety.
During a recent appearance on the WTF with Marc Maron`s podcast, as quoted by Variety, Aster said his father suggested he stick to directing only after his 2023 film `Beau Is Afraid` underperformed at the box office.
"When Beau Is Afraid flopped, my dad did tell me, `Uh, maybe you shouldn`t write the next one. He might`ve been right," said Aster as quoted by Variety.
