Coldplay star Chris Martin has opened up about the reasons for the split with actress Gwyneth Paltrow and revealed that he felt "down and confused" in life.

The musician, who fiercely guards his private life, said the separation had allowed him to figure out where he had "gone wrong" in the past, while admitting that it had changed his outlook on life for the better. The couple got married in 2003 and divorced in May this year.
