A three-day long exhibition hopes to spark discussions around physical, cultural and artistic heritage through panels and immersive exhibitions

Conversations about conservation do not always have to be in lengthy powerpoint presentations. Walk into the Continuum exhibition by INTACH on August 6, and you might learn its true extent. “People often ascribe heritage to built structures, but it goes far beyond that,” explains Katyayani Agarwal, convenor, Mumbai Chapter of Indian National Trust of Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH).

“The panel discussions involve people who were key to crafting the Heritage Laws, and those who worked for it on the ground. Our objective was to raise awareness about the work, as well as about heritage that is all around us,” she adds. To this end, the panel discussions on Mumbai’s Art Deco design and legacy moderated by Mustansir Dalvi, and conservation architect Kirtida Unwalla’s examination of the role of conservation in a changing world will be mirrored by The Mythology Project’s exploration of the different myths and faiths that are housed in Mumbai.
