UPSC aspirant duped of Rs 13 lakh in fake Mumbai civic body job scam

A UPSC aspirant was allegedly duped of Rs 13 lakh by a man who promised him a job in Mumbai civic body’s water department. Police said the accused also cheated another person of nearly Rs 11 lakh in a similar scam

Kasturba Marg Police have booked the accused for cheating and other related offences.
THE Kasturba Marg Police in Kandvali has filed a case against a man named Himanshu Mishra for allegedly defrauding a Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) aspirant of Rs 13 lakh by allegedly promising him a job in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
According to the 26-year-old complainant, he came in contact with Mishra in 2024 through his friend Adarsh Yadav, who informed him that his acquaintance could arrange a supervisor’s job in BMC’s Water Department and demanded money.
