In a case of domestic violence rooted in a property dispute, a 73-year-old man, was allegedly beaten so badly by his son, that he now lies in a hospital bed, with both his legs fractured. The incident took place on Sunday in the Ghartanpada area of Dahisar East, when the son, Kishor Satle, 47, overcome by greed, allegedly assaulted his father, Vijay Satle, with a stick during an argument over transferring of a flat in his name.
According to police sources, Vijay, a widower, lives alone in Dahisar East. His elder son Kishor, the accused, lives in the family’s native village in Sindhudurg, while his younger son Mithun, 45, stays nearby in Vaishali Nagar and regularly looks after him. The dispute reportedly stemmed from a 1BHK flat in Hari Nagar, Jogeshwari, which Vijay owns and currently rents out. The rental income supports his daily expenses. Kishor had been pressuring his father for years to transfer the property to his name.
