A major fire broke out in tin-roofed huts built for labourers in a residential area of Mira Road near Mumbai on Thursday. The blaze caused two to three gas cylinders to explode; however, no injuries have been reported. The fire brigade arrived promptly and managed to bring the blaze under control.

The incident occurred in the Sheetal Nagar area, where a developer had set up about 20 to 25 temporary tin huts for his labourers on an open plot. Around noon, a short circuit in one of the huts sparked the fire. At the time, two to three labourers were present inside.

The fire spread rapidly in the afternoon heat, triggering explosions of two to three gas cylinders stored inside the huts. These explosions caused panic in the surrounding area.
