IMD issues red alert for Pune Ghats, orange alert across coastal and ghat areas

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for the ghats of Pune, indicating the likelihood of extremely heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, an orange alert has been sounded for Thane, the ghats of Satara, Sindhudurg, Raigad, and Ratnagiri, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in these regions.

According to the IMD forecast, on Wednesday, Pune district is likely to experience light to moderate rainfall.

The weather bureau has issued a red alert for the ghats of Pune, as the area is likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places, with the possibility of extremely heavy rainfall at isolated spots, indicating a more severe weather pattern in the hilly areas.
