Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recently launched the ‘Bright Bus’ initiative at the Maharashtra Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai, a mobile classroom project aimed at promoting digital literacy and women's empowerment. Started under MLA Prasad Lad’s “Mee Mumbai Abhiyan Abhiman Pratishthan” and supported by Crocs India and the TSL Foundation, the project blends education and essential services on wheels.
The Bright Bus, an air-conditioned digital classroom on wheels, is fitted with projectors, TVs, a sound system, and 20 computers. In the mornings, it will visit schools to provide digital learning to students, while in the afternoons, it will double up as a mobile help centre, offering access to Aadhaar services, assistance with government schemes, and help filling out online forms.
Launched across five BMC schools in Mumbai, the project is designed to reach communities that often get left out of digital initiatives. Beyond basic training, the bus will also host storytelling sessions, workshops, and skill development programmes aimed at building confidence and awareness in underserved areas.
