Of the recruited, 10,908 will be selected as regular police constables, 554 as prison constables

In a move to ease work pressure on the state police force and strengthen law enforcement, the Maharashtra government has approved recruitment of 15,000 new constables. The approval was given a go ahead on Tuesday in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
According to the statement issued by the chief minister’s office (CMO), the recruitment will include 10,908 regular police constables, 234 police constables (drivers), 25 police constables (for police band) and 2393 armed police constables. Besides, these 554 prison constables will be recruited and all the enrolment process will be done at respective districts.
