'Gig workers from state likely to join strike, police monitoring developments'

Telangana Gig and Platform Workers' Union (TGPWU) and Indian Federation of App-Based Transport Workers (IFAT) have claimed that lakhs of workers across the country are expected to participate in the strike, demanding better payouts and improved working conditions

Gig and platform workers from Mumbai and across Maharashtra are likely to join the nationwide strike called by unions, officials told news agency PTI on Wednesday.
Maharashtra Police are keeping a close watch on the situation, particularly on New Year’s Eve, to prevent any untoward incidents, they added.
