Around 5,000 families in the village of Gorai have been dealing with water scarcity for about a week, compelling locals to depend on BMC tankers. Watchdog Foundation, a non-government organisation, has warned of a  Handa Morcha at the office of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s R Central Ward if the matter is not resolved.

The areas affected by the shortage are Lower Koliwada, Upper Koliwada, Bhandar Wada, Jui Pada and Beach Road.
