The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is waiting for the No-Objection Certificate (NOC) of the Environment Department to start work on the construction of the Mahim Causeway bridge.

According to the records, in 2019, the BMC decided to construct a new bridge at Mahim Causeway, replacing the old one as the current bridge is like a bottleneck. “In August 2023, the BMC received permission from the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA),” said a BMC official. "There are still a few NOCs pending with the Environment Department for the construction of the bridge over the Mahim Creek,” the officials added.
