The <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/rajya-sabha-elections-2024-all-6-nominees-from-maharashtra-including-ashok-chavan-elected-unopposed-23336116" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)</a> president JP Nadda on Wednesday asked leaders from party's Mumbai unit to ensure that the BJP's ideology reaches the last person in society, reported the PTI.
According to the PTI, JP Nadda urged Mumbai BJP leaders to give a befitting reply to opposition attacks.
JP Nadda, who is on a two-day visit to the city, met BJP office-bearers from all 36 assembly constituencies, MPs and MLAs from Mumbai.
He urged BJP leaders to use social media and seek the support of prominent personalities, stressing the need to formulate a strategy to ensure that the party's ideology reaches the grassroots levels. He also urged BJP leaders to give a befitting reply to attacks by the opposition.
Nadda also chaired the election management committee meetings for all six Lok Sabha constituencies in Mumbai.
In the 2019 general elections, the BJP and undivided Shiv Sena, which was its alliance partner then, had won three seats each in Mumbai.
In the Maharashtra Assembly polls held that year, the BJP won 16 of the 36 seats in the city, while 14 were bagged by the Sena.
The state's political landscape has undergone dramatic changes since then, with splits in the Shiv Sena and <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/search/nationalist-congress-party-articles" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Nationalist Congress Party (NCP)</a>.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, the BJP President will inaugurate the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj sculpture at Band Stand and will also hold interaction with beneficiaries of the government schemes.
Earlier, Bharatiya Janata Party president JP Nadda on Saturday urged party workers to strive hard in the Lok Sabha polls to take the party beyond the 370-seat mark and expressed confidence that the Modi government will return to power scoring a hat-trick and create a record.
Addressing the party's National Convention in Delhi, Nadda spoke of the BJP's commitment to the construction of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had led the rituals at the Pran Pratishtha event on January 22 in Ayodhya.
"We all here are happy and full of enthusiasm but with this we have to stay alert and work with full force to cross 370 (seats) and more than 400 for NDA. We have to cross 370 and for that, we have to work with full strength at every booth. Workers of BJP work very hard, I have full faith in you that you will fully immerse yourself, and BJP, under the leadership of Modiji, will score a hat-trick in the third term and will move forward by breaking record," Nadda said.&nbsp;
