Mumbai: Taxi and auto union calls off strike

Around 48,000 taxi drivers and about two lakh autorickshaw drivers in Mumbai had decided to go on a strike from tomorrow, September 15, seeking a hike in fares, the auto and taxi drivers’ union had said.

In a recent development, the strike of autos and taxis in Mumbai have called off the strike following a meeting with the state industries minister, Uday Samant. Confirming the development, A L Quadros, general secretary of Mumbai Taximen’s Union, told mid-day.com, "We have called off the strike for now."
