Meanwhile, humidity also increased, turning the weather from hot and relatively dry to hot and humid.

On Wednesday, Mumbai&rsquo;s Santacruz observatory recorded maximum temperatures of 34.5&deg;C, with relative humidity at 70 per cent, in comparison to Tuesday&rsquo;s figures of 32 per cent, while the Colaba observatory on Wednesday recorded temperatures of 34&deg;C with humidity at 80 per cent.

On Tuesday, the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-heatwave-imd-issues-yellow-alert-for-mumbai-thane-palghar-predicts-hot-and-humid-weather-conditions-23620367?button=next" rel="nofollow">India Meteorological Department (IMD)</a> had issued an orange alert for Mumbai with temperatures rising to 40&deg;C.&nbsp;The IMD on Wednesday issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and Raigad districts, indicating hot and humid weather in isolated pockets. A green alert has been issued for Thursday and Friday for Mumbai and the surrounding districts.
