Mumbai: Woman jumps off Bandra-Worli sea link, no suicide note found

The woman who jumped off the bridge was identified as Rani Vishnu Panchal, a resident of Sion. The police didn't find a suicide note on Panchal. They have sent the body for postmortem and registered an Accidental Death Report

A 27-year-old woman slipped past the security on the Bandra-Worli sea link and jumped off it on Friday afternoon. A woman driver informed the police of the incident and the Worli police found the body late in the evening on the Worli Koliwada sea shore. The woman who jumped off the bridge was identified as Rani Vishnu Panchal, a resident of Sion. The police didn't find a suicide note on Panchal. They have sent the body for postmortem and registered an Accidental Death Report.

Speaking to mid-day, API Vinayak Shitole of Worli police station said, “Panchal was working in a clothing company at Kurla. On Friday, at 1 pm she left her office for lunch but didn't return. She allegedly jumped off the sea link around 2 pm. A woman who was driving by informed us. After four hours of searching we found the body at Worli Koliwada around 6 pm. We took her to BYL Nair Hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival. We are awaiting the postmortem report. We have informed her family and their statement is awaited. We didn't find injury marks on her body."
