Eight held from Bengaluru for robbing man of Rs 31.7 lakh in Navi Mumbai

The Navi Mumbai Police have apprehended eight individuals from Bengaluru in connection with a case of dacoity and abduction, during which they impersonated law enforcement officers to unlawfully appropriate Rs 31.7 lakh from a man.

The suspects were captured within the jurisdiction of the Upperpet Police Station in Bengaluru on June 2, around 36 hours after the incident that transpired in the Juinagar area of Navi Mumbai on May 31, Senior Inspector Devidas Katale said. 

According to Inspector Katale, the complainant is engaged in the business of depositing cash in automated teller machines (ATMs) on behalf of others, and the gang specifically targeted him at an ATM of a nationalised bank in Juinagar on the morning of May 31.
