A man, recognised as Gokul Jha, who was on the run after allegedly assaulting a female receptionist at a private hospital in Maharashtra's Thane district, has been arrested and remanded in police custody for two days by a court on Wednesday, a police official said, reported news agency PTI.
The alleged incident occurred on Monday evening at Shree Bal Chikitsalaya in the Kalyan East area. Following the attack, Jha reportedly fled the scene and attempted to change his appearance by shaving his beard and trimming his hair. However, locals apprehended him on Tuesday and handed him over to the police.
Furthermore, a widely circulated video showed Jha allegedly kicking the 25-year-old receptionist and dragging her by her hair across the reception floor of the paediatric hospital, PTI reported.
