Opposition leaders across the country on Monday condemned the car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort, which killed at least eight people and injured 24 others, and urged the government to ensure a swift and transparent investigation into the incident.

A high-intensity explosion ripped through a car parked near the Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening, gutting several vehicles and shattering nearby window panes. The blast, heard across adjoining buildings in the congested area, prompted police to issue a high alert in the national capital. Seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot as the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) cordoned off the area.
