A top police officer in Bihar has caused anger after saying that the recent rise in crime is due to farm workers being unemployed during the off-season, reported the PTI.
Kundan Krishnan, Additional Director General (Headquarters), made the comments during a press meeting on Wednesday evening.
“Bihar has two main crop seasons. Between April and July, there’s no farming work, so many farm labourers are without jobs. This leads to land disputes, and some young people even take up contract killings for quick money,” said Krishnan, according to the PTI.
