MiD DAY asked Bangalore's chatterati five questions to find out their EQ (Environment Quotient). Their answers are guaranteed to impress, surprise, shock, and amuse you
Here's what we asked them
>>What is the biggest threat facing earth today? Energy crisis, water shortage or loss of species?
>>If left on 20 minutes, which appliance would use the most energy? Air-conditioner, TV, or microwave?
>>How often do you shop or pay bills online? This is an eco-friendly act as it saves paper and fuel.
>>Who are indigenous people? They are tribals or earliest known inhabitants of a region.(Psst... Aamir Khan can't be considered one!)
>>How many aerosol products do you use in a day? Some rupture the ozone layer.
RAMYA, ANJAAN, WASEEM KHAN, PADMINI RAVI and others take the test
Wondering who got them right?
Ramya, actress
1. I think earth faces a bigger threat from the energy crisis followed by waste products and then endangered species.
2. Air-conditioner because it consumes more electricity than the other two. Second would be microwave and then television.
3.u00a0 I have never shopped online.
4.u00a0 People who care for the earth and are concerned about it. Aamir Khan is one person whom I think cares a lot for the environment and mother earth.
5.u00a0 I am very eco-friendly and shop mostly for eco-friendly products. I must confess, I use perfumes.
Manjul Gupta, beautician
1. Oil and gas
2. Microwave
3. Never shop or pay bills online
4. Don't know what to say
5. Use two or three aerosol products a day
