Airline gets bomb threat email; nothing suspicious found at Pune airport

A private airline's office at Pune airport received a bomb threat via email in the early hours of Sunday, prompting a thorough security check at the international airport, police said on Tuesday. However, no suspicious items were found.

According to officials from Vimantal police station, the threatening email was received at 1:25 am and stated: “Powerful explosive devices are hidden inside the backpacks placed around the airport and planes. You must evacuate the building urgently... people will die.”

The email was read by a customer care executive at around 6:45 am, who then immediately alerted the authorities, triggering the security response.
