Four people, including two women, died after the car they were travelling in crashed into a divider on the Samruddhi Expressway in Washim district of Maharashtra, an officer said on Friday.

The incident took place around 8 pm on Thursday between Wanoja and Karanja along the high-speed corridor, the officer added, according to news agency PTI. 

A family of five from Umred in Nagpur district was returning in a car after attending a function in Pune. When the vehicle reached near channel number 215, the driver reportedly lost control of the car, resulting in the crash, an officer from Mangrulpir Police Station said.
