Weather update: IMD issues yellow alert for several districts in Maharashtra

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for several districts of Maharashtra on Friday, warning residents of possible thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in isolated areas.

Thane and Palghar are under a yellow alert for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, heavy rain, and gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph. Meanwhile, Mumbai, Raigad, and Ratnagiri could experience thunderstorms with lightning, moderate rainfall, and gusty winds of 40-50 kmph at isolated places. Other districts under yellow alert include Sindhudurg, Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Pune, the ghats of Pune and Satara.
