Three LET militants killed

Three top LET militants were killed in an encounter in Doda (J&K) yesterday.

A self-styled militant commander was among three top Laskhar-e-Toiba ultras killed in an encounter with police in a remote village in Doda district.

On a tip off about the presence of the militants, a joint team of Special Task Force of police assisted by security forces launched an operation in Tagan Dhar in Gandoh belt, early this morning, police said.

During cordon and search operation, militants opened fire at them and in the ensuing encounter, three militants of LET outfit were killed. The slain militants have been identified as Abu Murad, a self-styled Pakistani commander and Zafarullah and Farooq Ahmed, two local ultras.


The recoveries from the spot included a Sniper rifle, an Ak rifle, a pistol and two magazines.
