The death toll in Pakistan due to monsoon rains crossed 200 on Sunday as another 10 people have been killed, the National Disaster Management Authority said. Another 18 people were injured, taking the cumulative death toll to 203 and that of injured to 562. The downpour began on June 26 when the first spell of monsoon rain was recorded, triggering flash floods in the northwest of the country. Nine of the latest deaths were in Punjab province.
Cops go missing...
Seven police personnel have gone missing during routine patrolling in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, police said on Sunday. The police personnel went missing in South Waziristan district bordering Afghanistan, District Police Chief Arshad Khan said.
