In a moment of misfortune, Gill attempted to swat a full toss from Vaibhav Arora but ended up picking out Rinku Singh at deep square leg, cutting short what looked like a potential match-winning innings.

This marked the second occasion in Gill's IPL career where he was dismissed in the 90s, the first being a 96-run effort against Punjab Kings in 2022. With this latest near-miss, Gill has now joined an elite but unfortunate club, becoming only the fourth Indian batter in IPL history to be dismissed in the 90s two or more times.
