Arsenal signed Swedish forward Viktor Gyokeres on Saturday, bringing an end to the English Premier League (EPL) club’s search for a goalscorer.
Gyokeres has signed a five-year contract after moving from Sporting Lisbon in a deal that is reportedly worth $85 million (R735 crore). The 27-year-old striker joins the Gunners after establishing himself as one of the deadliest finishers in world football after two outstanding seasons in Portugal where he fired Lisbon to back-to-back league titles. He scored 97 goals in 102 games, including 54 last term, outscoring the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah.
