A 25-year-old security guard was brutally murdered in broad daylight near the MHADA office in Bandra East, Mumbai. The victim, identified as Abhinav Kumar Chaudhary from Bihar, was allegedly attacked by two unidentified assailants who slit his throat before fleeing the scene. He was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries

The Bombay High Court has referred to a larger bench the question of whether prisoners convicted under special laws like MCOCA and POCSO can be denied furlough through a blanket ban.
