A day after a man tried to kill his 28-year-old girlfriend by setting her ablaze, which eventually led to his death when the woman held on to him while on fire, the victim succumbed to her burn injuries at a hospital. She had suffered 80 per cent burns in the incident. An officer from Meghwadi police station said that she died at JJ Hospital around 10 am.

Police said Vijay Khambe set the woman on fire because he wanted to marry her, but her parents had rejected the proposal. Even the woman had started to dislike him because of his alcohol addiction.
