Thanks to incessant heavy rainfall over the past few days, water level in seven lakes catering to Mumbai’s supply requirement has doubled as compared to last year.

A stock of 4.5 lakh million litres of water had led to a supply cut of 20 per cent in August 2020, however, the BMC had last week assured that the city’s supply would not be affected this August. As of now, all the lakes have a combined stock of over 9.37 lakh million litres of water.
