On June 12, 2025, Air India Flight AI-171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner flying from Ahmedabad to London, crashed just seconds after takeoff, killing 260 people in one of the deadliest aviation disasters in recent Indian history. For months, the tragedy was believed to be the result of a catastrophic technical failure. Now, nearly eight months later, the investigation has taken a dramatic and deeply disturbing turn. Fresh investigative reporting suggests the final crash report may conclude that the disaster was not caused by a mechanical malfunction, but by deliberate human action inside the cockpit. The report identifies Captain Sumeet Sabharwal as pilot-in-command, with First Officer Clive Kunder as co-pilot. Police in Geneva fired tear gas and used water cannons on around 3,000 protesters marching in support of the Gaza flotilla.
