A powerful winter storm has plunged large parts of the eastern United States into a dangerous deep freeze, disrupting daily life and straining critical infrastructure. Freezing temperatures, heavy snowfall and widespread ice have left millions facing power outages, travel shutdowns and emergency restrictions. According to the BBC, at least 20 deaths have been linked to the extreme cold and snow as authorities continue investigations and emergency response efforts.
