A powerful winter storm has plunged large parts of the eastern United States into a dangerous deep freeze, disrupting daily life and straining critical infrastructure. Freezing temperatures, heavy snowfall and widespread ice have left millions facing power outages, travel shutdowns and emergency restrictions. According to the BBC, at least 20 deaths have been linked to the extreme cold and snow as authorities continue investigations and emergency response efforts. Nearly 20 states are currently under emergency orders, with more than 140 million people impacted by weather warnings spanning from the Southern Rockies to New England. WATCH

Powerful winds, relentless rainfall, and massive waves overwhelmed towns, transport links, and critical infrastructure in multiple regions. In southern Italy, flooding inundated homes and tourist areas, while entire sections of seafronts, promenades, and beaches were destroyed. Wave heights reached extraordinary levels, tearing through coastal defences and washing roads into the sea. Emergency services and military units were deployed as authorities worked to manage evacuations and assess damage.
